Located in Wood Dale, Illinois we provide over 20,000 laboratory chemicals as well as source hard to find chemicals and facilitate custom synthesis. We aim to go the extra mile for our customers, employees and our community.OUR HISTORYIn 1976, a chemist Nitin Shah, our CEO and founder, boarded a plane to the United States from India. He had two suit cases and ten dollars in his pocket. During his first five years, he worked nights as a production chemist, doing his best to make ends meet. It was then he realized laboratory chemicals could be made more accessible Seeing he could make a difference, he opened up a chemical directory and began to make calls to prospective customers. From there, in 1981, Chem-Impex was born. Since then, Chem-Impex has grown to service thousands of customers, entered new markets and created strong partnerships within the industry.OUR PHILOSOPHYOur focus is simple: to make our customers feel supported and to help them persevere. That is why we aim to keep the majority of our inventory in stock in our barcoded warehouse to facilitate same day turnaround time. We take pride in being a small business that can be nimble and flexible to meet the changing needs of our customers. Our customer service and quality teams are highly qualified and extremely responsive. We are able to help by providing specialized quality information or technical documentation and in the assisting in the audit of a manufacturer or qualifying a manufacturer.OUR INFRASTRUCTUREChem-Impex has invested heavily in our company’s data, fulfillment and quality infrastructures. Orders can be processed via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and our warehouse is fully barcoded, facilitating quick turnaround and minimal errors.OUR TEAMOur mission doesn’t end with helping researchers with their discovery endeavors. We believe in empowering our team to create their own life’s work. We move fast and we challenge each other, but we look after each other and care about our culture, which makes working here extremely rewarding. There’s a lot of work left for us to do, and we couldn’t do it without a single member of our team.
